Black powder-coated O-rings are dependable and strong, but their unique color sets them apart from nickel-plated ones. Welded for increased strength and endurance, these heavy O-rings can withstand greater tension than their non-welded counterparts. Heavyweight O-rings differ from lightweight O-rings significantly in wire thickness. More challenging projects, such as cargo restraints and tie-downs, are where heavy-duty welded O-rings really shine.
The uniform dark look is achieved at the factory by coating the metal surface with pigments combined with colored resin. Subsequent high heat permanently fuses the particles into a smooth, durable finish as the coating bonds to the metal surface. In case you're wondering, the coating is resistant to the scrapes, scratches, and dings that can come with regular use.
All of our D-rings, buckles, triglide slides, and other hardware are sized by the webbing or straps they are intended for. These are made for use with 1 1/4 Inch webbing and/or straps.
